FOCUS Valve MICS Training Days is a new educational program of Innsbruck Medical University in cooperation with Aesculap Akademie® based on the experience of 10 years FOCUS Valve minimally invasive valve surgery training courses. The objective of this program is to provide individualized intensive training opportunities for MICS mitral valve procedures on explanted pig hearts with the support by experienced tutors.
The wetlab training will be complemented by visits to our OR to observe full minimally invasive mitral valve procedures using the totally endoscopic approach as well as hemisternotomy.
Up-to-date 3D imaging with the Aesculap Einstein Vision® videoendoscopic system is available on each wetlab working station as well as in the OR.
At FOCUS Valve MICS Training Days participants train extensively the most important techniques of mitral valve repair and replacement on explanted pig hearts.
2 surgeons will work on one station tutored by a senior minimally invasive surgeon.
MICS Training Days comprise Modules II and III of the FOCUS Valve educational program.
