FOCUS Valve MICS Training Days is a skills-acquisition education program of the Focus Valve Platform and the Medical University of Innsbruck in cooperation with Aesculap Akademie based on the experience of more than 10 years Focus Valve minimally invasive valve surgery training courses.
The objective of this program is to provide individualized intensive training opportunities for MICS mitral valve procedures on explanted pig hearts under the guidance of by experienced tutors.
The wetlab training will be complemented by intensive OR hospitations to observe totally endoscopic or other minimally invasive valve procedures. Up-to-date 3D imaging with the Aesculap Einstein Vision® videoendoscopic system is available at each wetlab working station as well as in the OR.
At FOCUS Valve MICS Training Days participants train extensively the most important techniques of mitral valve repair and replacement on explanted pig hearts.
Two surgeons will work at one station tutored by a senior minimally invasive surgeon. MICS Training Days comprise Modules II and III of the FOCUS Valve educational program.
